Learn just how fun and easy it is to create machine embroidery projects with a Janome embroidery machine! In this class, you’ll use our Skyline S9 sewing + embroidery machines to create custom embroidered fringed tea towels.
Students will embroider two fabrics as shown in photo – one with beachy icons and the other with a personalized monogram. Students will learn how to prepare and hoop fabric, and how to set up the machine, and program the machine for embroidering.
No embroidery machine experience is necessary; however, students must have sewing machine experience (must be able to independently thread and operate a sewing machine).
Any student who chooses to purchase any Janome embroidery machine or combo sewing + embroidery machine on the day of the class will be credited back the entire class registration fee.
Required Materials – makes (2) towels:
- (1) Pattern: Fringed Tea Towels by Studio M Squared
- 5/8 yard of main fabric
- 1/2 yard of accent fabric (note: this is more than called for on the pattern due to embroidery)
- (1) spool of coordinating sewing thread
- (4) spools of coordinating embroidery thread (match the colors to your fabric!)
Recommended Fabrics:
- Main fabric: quilting cotton, linen or linen blends
- Accent fabric: linen or linen blends that easily fray
Required Tools:
- fabric scissors or rotary cutter
- seam ripper
- pins and/or wonder clips
- chalk and/or frixion marker
