Class Dates: Tuesdays, September 8, 15, 22 + 29 – 6:30pm-9pm
The Everyday Essentials collection features three modern accessories designed to be used for everyday use:
- Wool + Wax Tote: a classic and sophisticated tote featuring waxed canvas. This bag has a super handy divided front pocket. Finished size is 13″ W x 15″ H x 3″ D.
- Petal Pouch: a fun shaped pouch you’ll love to fill with your favorite sewing notions! The pattern comes in a choice of two sizes, but during class we will making the large size, which is 6-1/4″ H x 10″ W x 2″ D.
- Minimalist Wallet: A zippered pocket and card slots keep coins and cards organized, while a long pocket behind the zippered pocket is great for cash and your phone. The pattern offers two sizes, but in class we will be making the large size, which is 7-1/2″ W x 4-1/2″ H.
This class is suitable for intermediate level students who have prior bag making experience and can confidently thread and operate a sewing machine independently. Prior experience with sewing zippers is helpful but not required.
Required Materials:
- (1) Pattern Book: Everyday Essentials by Noodlehead
- (1) Hardware Kit: Everyday Essentials – includes rivets + snaps, available to purchase day of class
- (1) spool of coordinating thread per bag/project
Additional Required Materials: Wool + Wax Tote:
- 3/4 yd exterior fabric
- 1/2 yd accent fabric (bottom of bag)
- 1 yd lining fabric (non-directional)
- 2-1/4 yds of Pellon SF101
- (2) 1″ wide leather handles or cotton webbing
- Fabric Recommendations: we suggest using canvas for your exterior fabric, oilskin canvas for the accent fabric, and quilting cotton for the lining fabric.
Additional Required Materials: Petal Pouch:

- (1) fat quarter for lining fabric
- 1/2 yd of Pellon SF101
- (1) 10″ zipper
- Fabric Recommendations: we suggest using quilting cotton for this project.

- 1/4 yd of Pellon SF101
- 1/8 yd of Decovil Light
- (1) 7″ zipper
- optional: 2″ x 8″ piece of leather for snap tap
- optional: 1/8 yd of fusible fleece for bulkier structure
- Fabric Recommendations: we suggest using quilting cotton for this project.
