This dark mauve shade is one of 36 shades of purple we sell. Purple is often associated with royalty and luxury. Early purple dyes were made from shellfish or snails until the accidental discovery of a synthetic alternative was discovered in the nineteen century whilst a scientist was trying to make a treatment for Malaria.
